We had a great tournament at the annual Lone Star Classic in Fort Worth, TX in April. Everyone did a fantastic job.

Amber has been around the world competing and training at the highest levels. After a tragic knee injury she has turned her sites to developing the best training in the Midwest. In House Friendship Tournament November 2019
The gym hosted a free local friendship/training tournament to the community. The tournament brought together 4 different clubs for the event and had a BJJ submission only event along with judo competitions. Everyone got lots of matches and had a fantastic time.

2019 World Military Games, Wuhan China
Sensei/Coach Amber Jones traveled to Wuhan China in October to represent the United States Armed Forces in the World Military Games.

FUJI Springfield 2019
We had an amazing turnout on our trip to Springfield for the Fuji tournament, taking home 3 gold medals, 1 silver medal and a bronze medal.

Some of our BJJ students traveled to compete in a grappling industries tournament.
2018 North/South Judo Tournament

Several members of the club travelled to the annual North/South Tournament. This being one of the biggest tournaments in the state, there was some very tough competition. Although the South lost, again, there were some very exciting matches with our very one Sensei Amber Jones along with students Amber Crumbo, Ethan Elliot and Joe McPhatter representing the on the team for the South. The juniors also fought very hard coming away with a 1st and 2nd place. The seniors did well with some extremely tough matches.

In House Friendship Tournament January 2018
We kicked off the new year with the first tournament of the new year. We a great showing from 4 different clubs with even member of White Dragon coming clear across the state. Amber had to knock some rust off of her referee skills with lots of matches. Even after the normal competition was completed we had about an hour of exhibition matches with these youthful energetic judoka who displayed tremendous sportsmanship and enthusiasm. Afterward we ended with a potluck meal to celebrate the 2nd year anniversary of Joplin Judo & JiuJitsu. Here's to many more years!

Several members of the team travelled to Memphis in December to get some good training and solidify our relationship with the club we are affiliated our BJJ with. Not to mention enjoy some amazing BBQ while down south.

We had a great start to the competition season with a competitors workout on 17 Feb. We plan to have several more workouts on Fridays dedicated to competitions! See you on the mat!
World Judo Day 2016!
On October 28th we celebrated World Judo Day to commemorate Dr Jigoro Kano's birthday. He created judo in 1882 so we made sure and did a throw for every year! We played lots of games, had family member come out to watch and even had some cookies thanks to Gil! It was a great time!
